The Chubbsafes RPF 9406 is a four-drawer, high-capacity fire-resistant filing cabinet designed to protect large volumes of paper records in offices, archives and document-storage rooms. Its reinforced insulated construction combines practical filing access with tested resistance to severe fire and impact conditions.

Fire protection for paper documents

The RPF 9000 Series was tested and certified to UL 72 Class 350 for two hours, including the Fire Shock and Impact Test. The test programme includes furnace exposure, controlled cooling and an impact sequence intended to simulate a cabinet falling through a collapsing floor during a severe fire.

The series also passed a separate three-hour Fire Endurance Test to JIS S1037:1989 by FRIM. These are separate test results and should not be added together as a single fire-resistance duration.

Locking configurations

The standard configuration on this Safebox2u listing is individual locking: the top drawer uses a three-wheel keyless combination lock and key lock to control all drawers, while each lower drawer also has its own key lock.
