The UBO-140E uses a programmable digital lock with an optional key lock; it can be locked with the key or used without engaging the key lock. Keep every operational or override key secure and separate from the safe, and restrict combinations or codes to authorised users.

The programmable digital lock uses 4 × AA batteries.
